One of Kansas City’s most popular attractions is its many professional sports teams. Kansas City is home to NFL pro sports team the KC Chiefs and Major League Baseball’s KC Royals.

Kansas Speedway in Kansas City is a 1200-acre facility with several buildings and grandstands that currently seat 82,000 sports fans with future plans to expand that to 150,000 plus the RV and camping areas. Sports fans can also take racing classes at the Kansas Speedway hosted by professional racecar drivers.
The Sprint Center in Kansas City’s revitalized downtown area is listed among the country’s best sports arenas. The $276 Million arena is Kansas City’s destination for basketball, hockey, concerts, family shows, and sporting events. It can seat over 18,000 sports fans and is the home of the college basketball experience.
Other events at the arena include NHL hockey, NBA basketball, indoor soccer, arena football, and BMX or dirt motorsports shows. Not only sports enthusiasts can be entertained at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. Other events you might likely find there are concerts featuring stars from the Eagles to Nickelback, from Britney Spears to Kenny Chesney, comedian Dane Cook or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
The KC Chiefs are Kansas City’s professional football team. They play at Arrowhead stadium, also located in downtown Kansas City. The Chiefs stadium can hold 77,000 sports fans, all donning their red and white, the KC Chiefs colors. KC Wolf, the Chief’s mascot, is a lovable character that was introduced to the Kansas City Chiefs sports world in 1989.
The KC Royals are Kansas City’s professional baseball team. The Royals sports team is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the MLB. The KC Royals play at Kauffman Stadium, endearingly called the “K”, which has recently undergone a $250 million renovation and seats 38,000 at capacity. While not the largest in major league baseball, like many of Kansas City’s other landmarks, Kansas City takes great pride in its stadium, and its Royals.
